Large Draft Horseshoe Door Knocker Handmade with Carved Horseheads
Large Draft Horseshoe Door Knocker Handmade with Carved Horseheads
Clydesdales, Percherons and other draft horses have much larger feet than the usual saddle horse. Western artist, retired farrier and blacksmith, Tolley Marney, hand makes western door knockers from used horseshoes. He melds traditional Blacksmith techniques with modern metal working technology. He carved a horse head into each end of the shoe and twisted rods around a steel bearing. His door knocker makes a deep thunk when knocked. It is very large and substantial.
Size: Appx 7" x 7", 3.75 lbs.
Cowboy artist Tolley Marney makes these beautiful door knockers with his hammer, anvil, forge, and arms. He does not use a jig or triphammer. So every piece is unique. He can also make a custom door knocker for your home with other designs if you want to commission him. The actual door knocker Tolley sends you will vary slightly from this photo as he hand builds each door knocker without patterns or casting.
